Week 13 Part A: Online Advertisiing - Analysis of the Marketplace

On TikTok, I always get sponsor videos of influencers promoting make up product. What really draws me in, is the way the influencer will test out the product. It's like show and tell, but trying to convince others to buy the product. Once the influencer tests out the product, they tell the audience about the benefits of the product which could be vegan friendly or doesn't crease. It all just depends on what product is being advertised  plus the link they provide takes you straight to the product on the website to purchase. Although, there are some advertisements that I get from Shein that I find annoying. Their advertisement will only have like a screenshot of a product on the website with a link. It's just too dull and boring which I feel more thought could've been put it. However, Shein has influencers promoting their brand. I feel like the influencers do a way better job than the actual company .

Advertisements have innovated over the past decade. From newspapers, billboards, radios, television, and etc. to social media. Social media is globally a huge platform society uses. It's very easy and simple to create ads.

Week 12 part B: Business Specific Tools

Comments:

  • Christian De La Torre (Frozen Tower Treats): I agree with Google being useful for businesses, while LinkedIn is best for much bigger businesses.
  • Luis Godinez (Godinez' Gym): This is the first I have heard and seen about Al. Sounds like a good business tool to use.
  • Anthony McRoy (Dirty Diamond Fitness): Calendy and Acquit Scheduling sounds like a pretty cool tool for businesses that do services.
  • Sascha Shapiro (Tuesday & the Gypsy): I rely on Google docs too for certain things. Its very easy and makes it much easier to send to others.

from reading off others findings, everyone had some tools uncommon, while there was also other tools discussed. Google was one of the common tools discussed which I feel is very beneficial when trying to promote a business. As for the other tools that really stuck out to me and discovered were Al, Calendy, and Acquit. Al seems like a very important tool when either being stuck on what to post or gaining ideas. Definitely one of the tools I look forward to using soon. As for Calendy and Acquit Scheduling, it makes it easy for clients or customers to book an appointment. If my business was more of a service, I would most likely used them.

Week 12 Part A: Using Business Specific Online Tools

I feel social networking for professionals will be a best fit tool I can use to my advantage. There are so many alike businesses compared to mine plus a collaborations with an influencer can uplift my small business. There’s so many advantage’s incorporated in networking.
Throughout my research, I have discovered secret sneaker clubs. These clubs have ties to the newest releases and exclusives before being publicly announced. As a sneaker owner, being part of one of the clubs will not only get the newest product and information, but engage with others in the sneaker industry.

Week 11 Part B: Marketing with Other Social Media/Tools

I commented on the following students post: Christian De La Torre, Sascha Shapiro, and Dustin Wells. After reading their posts, I was able to learn new things that could be beneficial for my business and how connective their platform choices are towards them. So many great great ideas and well explained reasons for their choice of social media platform.

Reading Christian's blog post, I was able to see a comparison with his thoughts on posting. We both believe that it all depends on how you use a social media platform. If all is done right, it'll eventually work out to your advantage. He also covered most topics that were given within the assignment and not just one specific. He also mentioned that his father had used one of the platforms to help with his business and how it was impactful. I hope if he does decide to enter the social media community with his business that Google will work out in his favor.

As for Sasha's business, her choice of researching TikTok was a good choice. I do believe that it will be very much so beneficial. She expressed in her blog post that there are no rule or limits to TikTok and you can be creative. If the day comes to where she makes a TikTok account, I hope she finds a community that appreciates her style of music.

Lastly, Dustin explained how his type of work/ service works best with Google and LinkedIn. It's pretty cool that not only his services can be shown, but there are other advantages within it. With LinkedIn, he's able to connect with others within his field of business and recruit others. How cool is that!

Comments

I am unable to make comments on others post so here are my responses.

  • Christian De La Torre (Frozen Tower Treats): Hi Christian, I do believe that it all depends on how you come up with posts and how precise you are when posting on social media platforms. It's also pretty cool how you can apply what strategies your father used for your personal use.
  • Sascha Shapiro (Tuesday & The Gypsy's): Hi Sascha! I feel like TikTok will be such a great route for you and your business.
  • Dustin Wells (DW Equipment Repair): Hi Dustin, I think LinkedIn and Google will best suit your company.

Week 11 Part A: Marketing with Twitter, TikTok, Google for Business, LinkedIn, Al and more

I chose to do research on TikTok which I feel will be effective for my business. TikTok is a largely used platform. Those who use the the app range from all different ages and regions. Account owners have access to post videos, pictures, slideshows, and you're even allowed to edit on it as well. Along with being able to promote content, analytics, creator portal, creator marketplace, and going live. There are more features being added to the app.

Creator portal basically helps content creators learn the basics of TikTok. With being six separate categories such as: getting started on TikTok, TikTok creation essentials, foundations of success, TikTok content strategy, community guidelines and safety, and getting paid to create. As for creator marketplace, it's for creator collaborations with brands. It gives a very detailed overview of creators statistics on their performances.

You are able to get paid by the amount of engagement your content gets. Also with the access to go live, viewers can send gifts which is actually money. Even going live consistently will impact growth of your business. I've came across multiple businesses on live showing their products and having raffles.

Most individuals turn to TikTok for entertainment, tips, music, learning, businesses, and more. During the pandemic, Covid-19, TikTok was on its rise. Many businesses got its publicity through the app. Whether it was posting content or having influencers promote their brand.

I feel that this would be a good way to get business exposure. You can be as creative as you want. Test different ways to see what content most are engaging in.

Week 10 Part A: Researching Email Marketing

Considering my business, I would probably send out newsletters monthly for customers. New sneakers are always releasing especially monthly. So within the newsletter, I would publish release dates of new sneakers, mission statement, holiday discounts, information on the restocked sneakers, sales, which states or countries are available for sending product to, unsubscribing, and a how to clean your sneakers. The following are very efficient and eye catching to customers. Everyone loves a discount and sales.

For my sneaker heads out there, they are very concerned when new releases are going to drop or when shoes get restocked. Some sneakers are just too hard to get a hold of because everyone wants them when first released. Also, including which states or countries are available to ship is key information. Can't purchase from a business that isn't able to send product to your region.

Week 9 Part B: Using Categories

I would definitely use sports as a category on my blog, vlog, or podcast. As well as food, artists, and  cartoons. With Sports, it's easy to use as a category, given that Air Jordan's CEO is Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan is a famous American basketball player. Also, most sneakers come from brands that promote their sneakers for athletes. Most are designed for specific athletic activities or sports.

Although, food, artists, and cartoons can also be used as a category. Most sneakers that have been recently released have collaborations with the following. There's the Air Jordan 11 'Cherry',  Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG TD 'Reverse Mocha', and Dunk Low Pro SB 'Bart Simpson'.

Reasons for Blogging

Having too much factual statements on a post can be very dull or boring. By adding human interest or a personal touch to a post can draw viewers attention. I feel like there are certain topics that are more sensitive than others when blogging which could make it harder to add humor.

However, for my business I feel it's best to add personal touch because I'm dealing with sneakers. Sneakers are very unique and come in so many different color waves or collaborations with famous people. There's so much that can be incorporated when blogging about them besides the facts. For example, the Air Jordan 3 Retro  'Neapolitan' can be compared to the ice cream to draw viewers attention. "The Air Jordan 3 Retro 'Neapolitan' looks as good as the ice cream".

Week 17: Wrapping It Up

As the class comes to an end, I have gained so much knowledge on social media and the influence it has for business accounts. I didn't ...
