Week1 B: Social Media Use Today

 Social Media is considered to be used for both purposes, personal and business wise. Majority of society either has it or use it daily. There are some downfalls when it comes to social media, but it can also have benefits when using. It's one of the biggest platforms in today's world. 

Many individuals use it for personal purposes. It allows them to stay connected with others around the world including, family and friends. Also, for recipes, advice, workouts, daily reminders, reading, podcasts, entertainment, news, dieting, and etc. Individuals are able to stay up to date with what's happening presently. Although, there is a downside when using it. Fake accounts can be made to catfish others, bullying, scammers trying to commit fraud, stalking, fake news, and explicit content that's easy for younger individuals to access.  

But, there are those who use social media for business purposes. It helps build others brands and companies. On Tiktok or YouTube, many influencers will collaborate with businesses to promote their brands causing their followers to become aware or invested in the brand or company. It's a great way for businesses to promote or advertise. 

Personally, I have social media for personal use. It's very time consuming for me and I try to limit myself. I don't post or care for how many followers I have. I feel it can really break someone and make them depressed. With this generation, it seems like a good handful invest so much time and energy into it. They get discouraged easily when someone behind a screen makes a negative comment.

Week1A: Tawni's Blog Theme

 For my choice of theme, I decided to choose the simple deep. The color of the background is a deep red which is one of my favorite colors. Red itself is extremely vibrant and strong. I feel the color carries power and strength within. Compared to my personality, I consider myself a strong individual that contains power within my own life. 

Not to mention, the simple deep theme includes a design around the border of the page. The given design reminds me of the polynesian design "fetu". The word "fetu" means star in the samoan language and represents wisdom. As part of the polynesian community, our tribal designs carry deep meanings and stories.

It gives me remembrance of my culture and illustrates wisdom. I feel as though this theme suits my character. Not only does it incorporate my favorite color, but it has a heavy meaning to it.
