Week 4 Part A: Defining Markets

The markets I chose to identify are Cream of Crop and Sprouts. Both are local grocery stores located in Oceanside, Ca. Cream of Crop only has one single location, while Sprouts is an international chain that has stores located all around.

After discovering both businesses websites, I noticed that Cream of Crop is very simple and doesn't provide too much information about the business. Not all the products are listed onto the website, only the local produce is. It also provides a tab for 'Specials & Savings' that includes a table of weekly produce specials, but its vague and not much information is put into place. By looking at it, it was kind of difficult to understand.

As for Sprouts, it's very well put together. The design as a whole is easy to access and navigate through. The font size is good and the images are very helpful and amusing to the audience. There's color provided, many tabs to go through, every product is listed, and even menus. You can tell there was so much thought put into the creation of the website.

However, each business seems to attract the same audience and customers due to their similar products. But, I feel more customers are drawn to Sprouts more because of its various locations and platform. Cream of Crop is only one location so therefore, more locals or those who live near would choose to shop.
