Week 8 Part A: How To Expand Your Research On Instagram by Using Hashtags

 One business that is popular for purchasing sneakers is 'GOAT Sneakers'. They have a following of 590,000 people with a blue verification check mark on their account. I noticed that no hashtags are used on each posts. But, they offer the name of the shoe and background information of the product with their website name in the caption. Some posts will have more likes than others. It's usually anywhere from a couple hundred to thousands of likes and they post consistently. As for the comments on the posts, there's at least one comment. This business is solely an online business with shipping available.

Another business I viewed was 'Foot Locker'. The company has 12 million followers with 15,289 posts and a blue verification check mark. They post constantly, but no hashtags are being used. Likes vary from hundreds to thousands. Comments are posted on each page anywhere from 10 to a couple hundreds. Some captions include when new releases will be available and the name of the sneaker. This business is in store and online for customers.

A small business I had seen was '916.Sneakers' on instagram. They have a following of 4,995 people with 178 posts. Each posts either includes what sizes are available or how many they have in stock of sneakers. They include the same hashtags on each posts and they do come up as an option to see. As for the last post that the account posted was within this month (March). Likes vary from 15 to almost 300. Comments range from at least 10 to less than 100. Shipping and trading are available with this business. 

'805_sneakers' is on instagram. They have a local store in the Santa Barbra area with a following of 2,500 people on instagram. I'm not able to see the exact amount of likes on the post, but it looks like they get about 10 to 20 likes. There' no comments on most posts and if there is, it's only one. The captions includes sizes, names, and whether the sneaker comes with a shoe box. No hashtags are being used in the posts. 

From looking through each of the businesses accounts, visual media does work depending on how you use it. 'GOAT' and 'Foot Locker' are already large businesses and popular so I can see why they don't use hashtags. I feel like I did learn new techniques of how to post content and what not to do. The large businesses had used a mix of both photos and video content, while the two small business mainly used photo content. Using both photos and videos could help my business grow. Also the difference between '916.Sneakers' and 805_sneakers' is that one uses hashtags which I think that's why they have more of an audience than the other.
