Week 2 Part B: Business Research

Nike

  • Multinational corporation that focuses on design, development, and manufacturing. Markets apparel, footwear, accessories, equipment, and services.
  • Social medias: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Instagram: 268 million followers
  • TikTok: 3.6 million followers
After checking out Nike's platforms on social media, they seem to be very active with their accounts. Each accounts have either posted within the hour or week of their products. I wouldn't say they post more on a certain social media page because it seems to be fair.

Shoe Palace

  • Retail chain business that offers shoes, streetwear, and accessories.
  • Social medias: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Instagram: 513,000 followers
  • TikTok: 1421 followers
Shoe Palace is more active on Instagram rather than TikTok. Most recent post on instagram is present day rather than TikTok being from 2021. On their instagram page,  they listed a contact for customers to contact them. It includes an email and business number.

Foot Locker

  • Retail Inc that sells American sportswear and footwear.
  • Social Medias: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Instagram: 12.1 million followers
  • TikTok: 1.4 million followers
Foot Locker posts on both Instagram and TikTok, but seems to be more active on Instagram. Most recent post from instagram was today and on TikTok was 5 days ago. Their accounts both provide a website link and a way to communicate with them.

GOAT

  • An American online platform that sells sneakers, luxury apparel, and accessories.
  • Social Medias: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Instagram: 4 million followers
  • TikTok: 543,200 followers
Stays consistently active on both platforms ( Instagram and Tiktok). Both pages seem to be identical with content being posted. Links to website and to communicate with the business is provided in the bios.

Crocs

  • https://www.crocs.com/c/footwear?gclid=Cj0KCQiA54KfBhCKARIsAJzSrdrzHEHlqXGFlZrLsaoW2ab1BcZfkcn2xtA2mbgNI7cE0fuMlas7RCsaAriwEALw_wcB&adid=ppc_google_us_brand_brandcroc_searchgooglebrandfootwear_x_x_x&ef_id=Cj0KCQiA54KfBhCKARIsAJzSrdrzHEHlqXGFlZrLsaoW2ab1BcZfkcn2xtA2mbgNI7cE0fuMlas7RCsaAriwEALw_wcB:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!4035!3!281824034525!e!!g!!croc
  • An American footwear company that markets foam clogs
  • Social Medias: LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok
  • Instagram: 1.6 million followers
  • TikTok: 823,000 followers
Both socials are really active and consistent. Most recent posts are from present day on Instagram and TikTok. Website links are provided in the bios and your'e able to message them off of instagram.

Overall, all businesses seem to be relatively active on their socials. They all provide new products and promotions that are current or about to happen. Website links are all provided throughout their bios, but crocs is the only one that doesn't have an email or number to get in contact with.

Nike is the biggest company out of all of the ones I listed. I was able to discover that GOAT is an American company which is surprising to me. They got tons of products that are luxurious and foreign. From shoes to apparel, they have it all.

  1. Hello Tawni. It was great to read your post on the businesses you researched. Some of those companies I am familiar with and others I am not, so it was great to learn about new companies. I find it interesting that Instagram seems to be the popular choice for businesses. In the research I did on my blog, Instagram was by far the most used social media platform. I noticed another popular platform for your business category is TikTok. I am a little familiar with the platform, (I have a few videos up) but find that its not so great for my particular line of work, either that or I'm just not using it well enough. :)

    1. Hi Nicole. I want to start off by saying thank you. But platform wise for your particular line of work, some platforms may work better than others. I would just keep trying:)

  3. I really like the businesses you chose, I like how you chose similar websites and the differences in how they handle their websites is interesting. I love to see a company properly handling their website correctly and giving them a good appeal, and how they handle their business website can reveal a lot about a company.

    1. Hi Spencer. Thank you! I'm really into shoes and already know what websites to go to when a certain pair are about to release, but can get confusing sometimes because some websites are more similar than others:)
